How are you today?

I feel guilty

A word for this moment

Forgiving doesn't mean it didn't hurt — it means handing God the right to settle the score.

A word for you

Bible text

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

Matthew 6:14

Understand

Guidance

Biblical forgiveness begins with what we've received: 'even as God ... hath forgiven you'. Romans 12 explains the relief — you don't have to be the judge of your own case. Forgiving doesn't mean denying the harm or staying in an abusive situation; it means setting down a weight you weren't made to carry.

Reflect

Reflection

Guilt that draws you to God is an invitation; guilt that only accuses is a burden. What do you need to confess and let go?

Practice today

Write a letter of forgiveness you don't need to send — and hand it over to God in prayer.

Pray

Prayer

Father, I choose to forgive as you forgave me. Take from me the weight of resentment and heal the wound underneath it. In Jesus' name, amen.
