Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
I'm discouraged
God doesn't give up on you on the days you almost give up.
Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Galatians 6:9
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Psalms 42:11
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? ... hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him.”
2 Corinthians 4:16
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
Psalm 42 is the psalmist talking to himself: he speaks to his own soul instead of just listening to it. Isaiah promises renewal for those who wait — not for those who try harder, but for those who rest in God. Elijah, exhausted, was cared for with food, sleep, and presence before any new mission.
Is your discouragement spiritual, emotional, or physical? God cared for Elijah with food, sleep, and presence before any new mission.
Practice today
Choose one possible task for today, finish it, and thank God for it.
Lord, I am tired. Renew my strength and restore my hope. Sustain me today, one step at a time. In Jesus' name, amen.
