Colossians 3:23
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
I'm unemployed
Your work is a place of worship, even when no one is watching.
Colossians 3:23
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Proverbs 16:3
“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
Ecclesiastes 9:10
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.”
Psalms 90:17
“Establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”
Colossians was written to slaves and workers with no status: even there, work is done 'as to the Lord'. This resets both motivation and dignity. Proverbs adds the surrender of plans — human effort and divine direction walk together.
Hand the doors over to God and set one possible action for today, however small.
Practice today
Start today's workday with a 60-second prayer surrendering your tasks.
Lord, I hand my work over to you: the doors, the deadlines, and the people. May my conduct honor you and may you establish the work of my hands. In Jesus' name, amen.
