How are you today?

I'm struggling with temptation

A word for this moment

You are not defined by the struggle — you are sustained by grace.

A word for you

Bible text

1 Corinthians 10:13

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

James 4:7

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Matthew 26:41

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.”

Hebrews 4:15-16

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace.”

Understand

Guidance

Hebrews shows a Jesus who understands the struggle from the inside. Paul assures there is always a way out — it usually appears before the critical moment, in the decision to watch. Watching means guarding the triggers: schedules, screens, company, and tiredness.

Reflect

Reflection

What is the trigger that usually comes right before the fall? What practical decision keeps you from facing it alone?

Practice today

Remove one concrete trigger from your path today and tell a trusted person about your struggle.

Pray

Prayer

Lord, I don't want to fight alone. Show me the way out you have already provided and give me strength to choose it. In Jesus' name, amen.
