Psalms 68:6
“God setteth the solitary in families.”
I feel alone
You may be alone, but you are not abandoned.
Psalms 68:6
“God setteth the solitary in families.”
Hebrews 13:5
“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Psalms 139:7-10
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.”
Matthew 28:20
“And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”
The Bible takes loneliness seriously: 'it is not good that man should be alone.' At the same time, Psalm 139 shows there is no place where God's presence does not reach. God comforts directly and also through people — He sets the lonely in families.
When loneliness tightens its grip, what thought comes with it? Confront it with the promise that God never forsakes.

Lord, your word says you will not forsake me. Fill this emptiness with your presence and give me courage to draw near to people. In Jesus' name, amen.
