Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Strengthen my faith
Faith grows through exercise: one step of obedience at a time.
Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Romans 10:17
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Mark 9:24
“Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
Matthew 17:20
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove.”
The boy's father in Mark 9 prays the most honest prayer in the Bible: he believes and doubts at the same time — and Jesus responds. Faith isn't the absence of doubt, it's the direction of the heart. Romans 10 shows the fuel: the Word heard and meditated on; James shows the proof: practical obedience.
Where is your faith still only theory? What concrete step of obedience have you been putting off?
