How are you today?

I'm going through a family crisis

A word for this moment

Marriage grows through daily decisions to love, not automatic feelings.

A word for you

Bible text

Ephesians 5:25

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-5

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12

“And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Understand

Guidance

Ephesians uses Christ's self-giving as the measure of marital love: service, not domination. Ecclesiastes adds the third strand — God at the center holds together what the couple's own strength alone cannot. And Proverbs reminds us that the tone of the conversation changes the course of the conflict.

Reflect

Reflection

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Where does God need to become that third strand?

Practice today

Do one concrete act of care today and name one quality you admire in your spouse.

Pray

Prayer

Lord, teach me to love as you love: with patience, truth, and self-giving. Heal what has hardened between us and renew our home. In Jesus' name, amen.
